CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Requirements for system updates and additional maintenance are included in requests that the state Public Service Commission has filed after a full service audit of Frontier Communications.
These records arrived Friday.
Overall, PSC information indicated that Frontier has committed to investing at least $ 200 million in system improvements in West Virginia by December 31, 2023.
In addition, the company has committed to provide fiber service to at least 150,000 locations before December 31, 2027.
Failure to meet deadlines will have consequences, according to the PSC.
Frontier filed for bankruptcy last year.
“These requests allow Frontier to proceed with its bankruptcy reorganization, develop a stronger corporate structure and make the necessary investments in West Virginia’s Internet infrastructure,” said Charlotte Lane, PSC president, in a statement.
Rampant complaints about Frontier’s service led to the PSC’s audit.
