She certainly isn’t proud of him!
Queens aspiring Proud Boy’s wife arrested with a weapons cache this week after allegedly making online threats related to the riot at the United States Capitol, told the Post that she is divorcing.
Joni Florea said she was “devastated” after learning the details of the charges against her husband Eduard Florea, who was arrested on Tuesday on a federal charge of gun possession.
“Just hearing some of the details … that’s why I’m getting divorced from him,” she said in a phone call on Thursday.
Her husband about six years ago, said Joni, “has always been an angry man” – and “I totally believe he planned to do that”.
“The only thing that worried me was my kids,” she said. “Eduard only cared about the Proud Boys.”
Prosecutors allege that the 40-year-old software engineer posted about sending an armed caravan to the Capitol and also threatened the life of senator-elect Raphael Warnock hours before the January 6 rebellion.
He did not attend the DC siege and was not accused of participating in the violence on Capitol Hill or of making an online threat.
However, Joni said that her husband “really wanted to go” to the riot that day – and even wore an army hat for the occasion.
“I said to him, ‘If you go, don’t you dare come back to my house,'” she said. “We were fighting like crazy and I think the only thing that stopped him was that that trip never came.”
“He sat in silence on the phone,” she added, remembering how he was crying because of the argument.
Then, on Tuesday, an FBI vehicle came down the couple’s quiet street in Middle Village to take Eduard into custody.
FBI agents said they seized more than 1,000 rounds of rifle ammunition, two dozen shotgun shells and approximately 75 military-style combat knives, two hatches and two house swords.
Joni declined to comment if she knew about her husband’s alleged arsenal, saying she is waiting to speak to the authorities again first.
She and Eduard got married in 2014 and have two small children together.
In the past four years, Eduard has become a “radical idiot” regarding his policy and has been fighting with his mother, a liberal who “hates Trump”.
“He was angry and upset and definitely brainwashed by the right-wing media,” said Joni.
Prosecutors say Eduard was a supporter of the Proud Boy and had signed up to join the right-wing group, but has not yet attended enough meetings to qualify as a member.
Although she was adamant about the divorce, Joni said her husband – who was denied bail on Wednesday – still doesn’t know about his plans.
But she has already opened a GoFundMe page asking for $ 2 million, including to pay for the divorce and sue President Trump and Parler, where her husband allegedly made the threats.
“He doesn’t think about the consequences of his actions,” said Joni of Eduard. “And I think this is the most disgusting … this is something that will destroy you.”
“And it will not destroy me,” she added, “because I know that I am a good person and I will walk away from it.”
