GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) – Coryell County Sheriff’s son Scott Williams was released on bail on Wednesday after he was arrested and charged with family violence and possession of marijuana.
Samuel Williams, 27, was arrested at around 8:30 pm on Monday after police were sent to a house in Gatesville in response to a domestic violence call, Gatesville Police Chief Nathan Gholke said on Wednesday .
Coryell Coy Latham County Peace Judge set bail on an assault charge causing bodily harm / family violence, a Class A misdemeanor and a marijuana possession charge less than 2 ounces, a Class B misdemeanor.
Williams was booked at Coryell County Jail on Monday night and was released after posting bail on Tuesday, records show.
Scott Williams said he spoke with prosecutors to ensure that his son is not treated differently from any other defendant.
