The Bengals today appointed Frank Pollack as the team’s offensive line manager and coordinator of the racing game. Pollack, 53, previously served as coach of the Bengals offensive line in 2018, before spending the last two seasons (19-20) with the NY Jets.
Under Pollack’s direction in 2018, the Cincinnati offensive line ranked 11th in the NFL with the fewest sacks allowed per game (2.3), while also paving the way for HB Joe Mixon to record career records in yards runs (1168), average yards per try (4.9) and rushed TDs (eight).
“Frank will help us make great strides in the racing game and in the protections,” said coach Zac Taylor. “He brings great technical skills in player development and his familiarity with some of our current strikers will allow him to start working immediately. We interviewed several strong candidates to get the best result for our team. I am excited about the experience, Frank brings to our team offense. “
“Coach Pollack is a very energetic guy and we look forward to working with him again,” said C Trey Hopkins. “We know the type of work he expects and the type of results we can achieve. He demands a lot and is very clear in his instructions. He is a great coach to play for.”
“I am very excited about Coach Pollack’s return,” said Mixon. “He proved that he is the best in the business. There are many records to be broken. I look forward to going back to the field and working.”
Pollack replaces Jim Turner, who served as coach of the 2019-20 Cincinnati offensive line.
