The interview became more controversial when Tapper continued to insist that the real issue was not electoral fraud, but doubts about the system created by President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that he had been duped in victory. “These are lies that undermine democracy,” said Tapper.
“Jake, you can make that clear,” said DeWine, “but I’m going to come back to the point that I also think is valid. And what is valid is that we have many people in this country who question this election. This is a problem.”
DeWine later added that Tapper blamed the president: “It’s not that simple.”
Tapper replied, “It’s that simple.”
