Again, Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio prove their ineptitude as New York leaders – they speak and act little.
An analysis by Bloomberg News found that the state of New York administered only 32% of the vaccines provided. In New York, it is even worse: 25.4%.
On Thursday, de Blasio promised 1 million vaccines to New Yorkers in the coming months. What has he been doing for the past few weeks?
Unfortunately, this is not just a local problem: although
12.4 million doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were distributed across the country, only 3.1 million were given. But that does not absolve the New York authorities, especially when Cuomo introduces himself as the king of coronavirus par excellence, even writing a book praising his own leadership.
Why are there no mass vaccination events? Where’s the urgency?
Cuomo and de Blasio chatter about equality, and now New Yorkers are learning what it means: to ensure that the vaccine is distributed fairly and equitably, no one should receive it.
