An outbreak of COVID-19 among employees at two In-N-Out Burger stores in Colorado has grown to 122 cases.
Last week, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) reported 80 confirmed cases of coronavirus among restaurant workers in Aurora and Colorado Springs, along with another 25 potentially infected. On Wednesday, however, officials posted an update confirming 42 cases among officials in Aurora and 80 in Colorado Springs.

As of Wednesday, CDPHE data show no reported deaths, and no cases reported among clients tracked to any location.

When CDPHE first reported the outbreak last week, Denny Warnick, vice president of operations at In-N-Out, said affected employees and those who had contact with them “were excluded from the workplace”.
“Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our customers and associates. We are committed to doing our part to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, ”said Warnick. “Our thoughts and prayers are with our associates and we hope for a quick recovery for each of those affected.”

In-N-Out also confirmed that it would be working with public health agencies to take the “appropriate” next steps.
An In-N-Out representative did not immediately respond to a request to update the statement or confirm whether the restaurants would remain open.

The In-N-Out locations – the first two in Colorado – opened last month to dozens of curious Coloradans, some of whom waited in line for 14 hours to sample the cafeteria offerings. Local police were dispatched to help control traffic, as well as at least one fight that broke out at the drive-through.
Currently, In-N-Out plans to open seven more locations in Colorado in the future.

Colorado, however, reported 330,859 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, with 4,750 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
