The engagement of these lovebirds had a difficult start.
A man’s romantic proposal at the top of an Austrian mountain ended in disaster on Sunday, moments after his new bride said “Yes” – when she slipped and plunged off a 200-meter cliff, according to the Sun.
The 32-year-old woman miraculously survived when snow softened her fall from the mountain at Carinthia’s Falkert resort, the agency said.
Her 27-year-old partner tried to grab her, but she also fell, flying 15 meters in the air before clinging to a ledge and holding on tight, Sun reported, citing Bild.
A passerby rescued the unconscious woman while her fiancé, who suffered a fractured vertebra, was rescued by a helicopter.
His injuries were not considered fatal.
“The two were very lucky. If it weren’t for the snow, it would have been very different, ”said a police officer at the scene.
