Candace Cameron Bure denies participating in brother Kirk Cameron’s Christmas protests

Candace Cameron Bure is closing rumors that she was present at her brother Kirk Cameron’s Christmas protests.

Cameron, 50, was hit by an intense reaction on social media after organizing a second caroling event on Tuesday – one that was held in response to the California home stay order because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I didn’t participate in any recent Christmas carols”, Bure, 44, tweeted Thursday morning. “In addition, I choose to follow the more general guidelines, wearing a mask and social distance when I’m in public.”

Despite not necessarily agreeing with his brother’s apparent stance on the mandates to stay inside, Bure resented the negative remarks addressed to Cameron and defended the “Growing Pains” star, as the two are incredibly close.

“I don’t like the vile tweets about my family,” she wrote on Twitter. “I believe that respectful dialogue is the key to being heard. Stay safe.”

On Tuesday night, Cameron organized another singing protest at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, California, and had about 100 supporters who gathered to sing Christmas without masks.

The crowd varied in age, from small children to the elderly, and they stayed close to each other while singing the lyrics to “The First Claus”, as can be seen in a video posted on the actor’s Instagram Story.

It seems that Cameron was inches from a band playing in front of the crowd. Almost nobody in the video is wearing any protective equipment.

Cameron responded to the reaction during a virtual appearance on “Fox News @ Night”.

“All I can say is that I am watching my community and seeing the devastation and suffering of people whose business has gone bankrupt, people dealing with anxiety, depression – suicide is on the rise – being abused quarantined by their attackers, and not I can just ignore it, “he said.

And he thinks that people want to be part of his events.

“This is the land of the free and the home of the brave and there are thousands and thousands of people in our community who prefer not to suffer in isolation and go out to sing and express their gratitude because we believe that there is immunity in the community, but there is desolation in isolation”, said Cameron.
