A 90-year-old Seattle woman who woke up to snow the day before her vaccination appointment for COVID-19 didn’t let that stop her – she just walked ten kilometers through the snow to do this.
Local Fox News affiliate Q13 reported that Fran Goldman walked six miles through the snow to his vaccination appointment for COVID-19 on Sunday after waking up on Saturday in the winter weather.
“I was spending a lot of time trying to get a vaccination appointment and finally on Friday, in the late afternoon, I got one. I woke up on Saturday with all the snow and thought ‘uh oh’. I know that our garage is inaccessible in the snow, “Goldman told the outlet.
She said that driving on time was out of the question, so she decided to go on foot and was determined to make an appointment because she had been working for weeks to get it.
Goldman said he took a practical walk on Saturday, traveling two-thirds of the way to the hospital and back. She said that after making the trip shorter, she knew she could do the full six-mile hike the next day.
“I got vaccinated and then I was told I had to sit and wait 15 minutes to make sure there was no reaction and said that I am very happy to sit,” said Goldman.
She told the post that she hopes to drive for the second vaccination appointment, weather permitting, but added that she would walk again if that was the only option.
According to The Seattle Times, the region saw a total of more than a foot of snow over the weekend. It was only part of the country that saw such conditions, with record snow hitting several other states.
