8 coolest new PCs and laptops announced at CES 2021

CES 2021 welcomed Acer announcing the new Predator Triton 300 SE with the latest Intel 11th generation processors and NVIDIA RTX GPUs. If you’re looking for an elegant and subtle gaming notebook that doesn’t have nasty RGB lighting or heavy design details, this is more than a sleeper.

Inside, you’ll find an 11th generation Intel Core i7 H35 CPU. This processor is capable of increasing up to 5 GHz, allowing you to enjoy high levels of performance, especially when taking into account the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. Acer’s dual fan cooling solution should help keep everything cool, thanks to the inclusion of the company’s 5th Generation AeroBlade metal fan. All the advantages contained in the laptop will easily provide content for the Predator Triton 300 SE’s 14-inch screen, which can reach up to 144Hz.

Even with all that power, the laptop should see more than 10 hours before it needs to be charged, unless you plan to play, of course. Acer expects to launch the new Predator Triton 300 SE in the US and beyond in March, starting at $ 1,400.

ASUS ROG Flow X13 (ROG XG Mobile)

It was only a matter of time before one of Razer’s competitors came up with a gaming Ultrabook to rival that of Blade, and ASUS announced just that at CES 2021. The ROG Flow X13 is impressive because of how compact the ASUS laptop is. managed to get inside.

You can equip this with an AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS CPU, up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x-4266 MHz RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU and up to 1 TB of PCIe 3.0 SSD storage. Things get really interesting with the optional 4K display, which can be powered with ROG XG Mobile.

This device is an external GPU case with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 inside. Furthermore, ASUS is not relying on Thunderbolt for this external GPU, but instead created its own solution with a customized PCIe 3.0 x8 interface that connects it directly to the CPU. It is also able to keep the laptop on. This thing is going to be quick and fast.

HP Elite Folio

At CES 2021, HP announced a new business-class Elite Folio 2 in 1. The HP Elite Folio was designed to be a mobile powerhouse, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8cx Gen2 ARM processor with integrated LTE for an always-on and always-on experience.

Not only that, but it can also be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB M.2 PCIe SSD and is displaying a 13.5 inch 1920×1280 screen with 3: 2 resolution. The Elite Folio is due to go on sale in February , with prices yet to be announced.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i

Lenovo brought the ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 to CES 2021, and we haven’t seen anything like it this year. The laptop has an e-Ink screen on the back, in addition to its traditional screen. Compared to the first generation laptop, this ink screen is much larger and more responsive, matching the main screen’s 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Not only is the ink screen better, but Lenovo also ran on a 16:10 higher main screen, Dolby Vision HDR and support for Dolby Atmos on select models. You can set them up for an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, and it comes with its own stylus for you to use on your laptop.

Oh, and did we mention that you can charge the ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i wirelessly? Well, you can do that with the optional Lenovo charging mat. The ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i will be available in the first quarter of 2021 with a starting price of $ 1,549.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga

Lenovo launched a brand new model for CES 2021 in the form of the ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga 5G. Slim as a tablet, equipped with an Intel 11th Generation Core i7 processor, optional 5G connectivity and a remarkable 3: 2 aspect ratio, this 2-in-1 laptop (with a stylus included) is the ultimate mobile productivity machine.

As the name implies, Lenovo is using real titanium on this laptop – specifically the cover. It’s cool to the touch, very light, but also incredibly resistant. Lenovo also uses its other famous materials, like a magnesium chassis with carbon in the bottom half. It is lightweight for a convertible and can do almost what any other Windows laptop can.

You can configure the laptop with an optional Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem (which returns to 4G LTE if there is no 5G). The 13.5-inch screen is also attractive for having a 3: 2 aspect ratio, which is similar to what Microsoft uses in its Surface line. The 2256 x 1504 screen supports Dolby Vision with a decent brightness of 450 nits.

Touch and ink are supported, and you even get a Lenovo pen inside the box. The keyboard may be a little shallow for those who are used to the ThinkPad line, but it is as good as you would expect from the company. It’s a solid portable workhorse, and Executive Editor Daniel Rubino has been enjoying it for the past week.

ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga will be available to order from January 2021, with prices starting at $ 1,899.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

So this is not the coolest product as it is essentially a Surface Pro 7, but the new Surface Pro 7 from Microsoft is a very significant device for 2021. We have all changed the way we work and learn thanks to the pandemic, and Microsoft is looking to help provide the means to do so with the new tablet designed for the business and education sectors.

The most interesting changes for the Surface Pro 7+ start with the SSD, which you can easily remove with a screw. Following are the processors, which are now from the Intel 11th Gen family, bringing a 30 percent increase in processor performance and almost 80 percent in the GPU, thanks to the new Iris Xe graphics.

What’s more, you can now order a Surface Pro with 32 GB of RAM. This version will not be cheap, as it is only available with a Core i7 and 1 TB of internal storage, bringing the price to $ 2,800. Finally, there is 4G LTE. This is not Surface Pro 8, but just an edition of Surface Pro 7 designed for businesses and schools.

MSI Creator 15

MSI announced Creator 15 at CES 2021, and we are always excited to see some dedicated workstations for those who need space for additional performance for design and video. Because it is focused on the creators, you can equip this laptop with up to an Intel Core i7-10870H processor and even an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q GPU.

It has a 15.6-inch real 4K pixel panel verified by Calman and covers 100 percent AdobeRGB. It runs on the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card. It also has a 99.9Whr battery, which is slightly below the maximum 100Whr that TSA allows for checked bags. Although we don’t know when Creator 15 will be released, MSI has stated that it will start at $ 1,899.

MSI Summit E13 Flip

To accompany the new Creator 15, MSI also announced its first 2-in-1 touch laptop in many years without a discrete GPU. Focused on companies and professionals, the Summit E13 Flip includes a sophisticated ink pen and a CNC milled chassis in white or black (with a rose gold pattern). It is elegant, but neither is it ostentatious.

The 13.4-inch full HD display isn’t the best, but in a 16:10 aspect ratio with 100 percent sRGB color accuracy with touch it should be more than enough for those focused on writing and business. Inside, MSI switched to an Intel Core i7-1185G7, which can boost up to 4.8 GHz and run at 28 watts.

Interestingly, in addition to the option to store up to 1 TB, MSI also offers models with 32 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Although some laptops like the XPS 13 have this option, most 13-inch Ultrabooks do not, instead of limiting it to 16 GB. This makes the Summit E13 Flip capable of running heavy software with ease.

The Summit starts at $ 1,599 for Core i7, Intel Xe graphics, with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. But that’s about $ 115 cheaper than a similarly configured Dell XPS 13, so there’s the usual savings in using the MSI. The next model jumps to 1 TB of storage and 32 GB of RAM for $ 1,899. Look for MSI in the coming weeks in various markets.
