Near the start of the game in Brooklyn on Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers were informed that the owner of the game Seth Curry had tested positive for COVID-19, by Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, who added that Curry (who was initially excluded from the game with an ankle pain) spent the first quarter on the Sixers’ seat before being placed in an isolated room and eventually leaving the arena separate from the team.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the entire Philadelphia team will now quarantine in New York, and contact tracking will begin. In addition to this quarantine period, Adrian Wojnarowski continued reporting that 76ers are expected to have several players lost due to contact tracking and are still awaiting the results of Friday’s coronavirus test. The fact that Curry spent the first quarter at the bank before the Sixers knew of his positive result is obviously worrying.

Joel Embiid, who sat next to Curry on the bench, plans to quarantine himself away from his family until he is sure he has not contracted the virus, by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. For now, the Sixers are scheduled to play in Denver on Saturday.

As for the Nets, Joe Vardon of The Athletic is reporting that they are I will still fly to Memphis, where they are scheduled to play a consecutive Friday night. Remember, Kevin Durant left after being exposed to the virus. Regardless of exposure to COVID-19 on Thursday, Kyrie Irving will not make the trip to Memphis for personal reasons, according to a Nets spokesman.

Brooklyn defeated the Sixers on Thursday, 122-109.
