76ers guard Seth Curry shadows former Mavericks team after victory

When a guy is facing his ex-team for the first time, there is always a little extra energy that comes with the match. That’s what happened to Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry on Thursday, when he faced the Dallas Mavericks for the first time since the exchange.

The Mavericks sent Curry to the Sixers in November on recruitment night in exchange for Josh Richardson. It was the second time Dallas let Curry escape and he reminded them on Thursday of how valuable he is to a team.

He scored 15 points and knocked out all three of his triples in the 111-97 victory over the Mavericks.

“Never anything personal, man,” said Curry with a smile. “I have a lot of respect for a lot of these guys over there. I just think they made a bad business decision, but it happens all the time, do you know what I’m saying? It is what it is.”

In addition to what he brought offensively, he was very active on the defensive end of the court. Duke’s veteran did a great job harassing Richardson from the start and also made an impact on that ending.

“Seth Curry took his hands, we said he should know their game, so he did,” laughed trainer Doc Rivers. “I only thought about our defensive energy, I’m looking, we hit 43%, we didn’t have a great offensive night and, even so, we went up by 20 in most of the game. Dallas is a great offensive team and for us it was special to play defense. “

Most importantly, the Sixers scored another victory and that is all that matters at the end of the day. The team needs to keep growing and that was another impressive victory for Philadelphia, regardless of who the opponent is.

“Another night to go out and get a win and play well as a team,” added Curry. “That’s the ultimate goal is to get a win, so the main thing was to see a lot of my guys down at the end of the track, and just catch up and play again.”

The Sixers will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday at home.
