76ers 101, Knicks 100: scenes of a stolen victory

I want to throw up in anger and my wife is asking me to hold a very agitated baby, but I need to find 150 words here, so come on.

The Knicks have not beaten the Philadelphia 76ers in their last 15 games, but none of them has been more painful than this one.

With less than a minute left and the Sixers win one, Alec Burks stripped Ben Simmons and had a man to win with Julius Randle on his left. Now, if you’ve watched Alec Burks run the counter this season, you know it almost always turns into a complete disaster. The guy can’t convert a breakfast opportunity to save his life. For sure, he ignored Julius and destroyed the tray. The Sixers then went up three. Randle missed a tray with seconds remaining and Tobias Harris was fouled.

And then … crazy. Harris missed both free throws and the Knicks had the ball with seconds to go. Everyone in the building knew the ball was going to Randle, and the big man handed it over.

The Sixers then threw the ball away, and Randle missed a streak of three that really would have won the game.

Now let’s get straight to the point: the Knicks went up one in the final seconds when Randle was called for the worst off-ball foul in history. Tobias Harris hit both free throws this time and the Knicks lost by one point.

I’m so angry. If you are reading this, you are probably also angry. To recap soon.
