71 more COVID-19 deaths reported in Iowa, less than 1500 reported cases, almost 4600 new tests

Every day at 10am, we take the previous day’s 10am numbers and subtract them with the current state numbers at 10am. For Black Hawk and Linn counties, we are reporting the COVID-19 site numbers for their counties. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we are providing numbers for the state website.

IOWA

(KWWL) – There were 1,425 new cases confirmed from 10am Wednesday to 10am Thursday, according to the state panel, which brings the total number of cases in the state to 272,444.

The state website reports that of the 272,444 people who tested positive, 224,821 recovered. There are 2,753 more recoveries than the state reported on Wednesday.

The death toll in the state is 3,739, 71 more than reported yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (224,821) and the number of deaths (3,739) from the total number of cases (272,444), it appears that there are currently 43,884 active positive cases in the state.

There have been 106 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 625, which is 644. Of those hospitalizations, 127 are in the ICU (out of 139) and 70 are in ventilators (out of 71).

In Iowa, there were 4,598 new tests performed in the last 24 hours and a total of 1,332,941 people were tested for COVID-19. The positivity rate in the last 24 hours (1,425 positive tests divided by 4,598 tests provided) is 30.9 percent.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

From 10am on Thursday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 panel is showing numbers as of 10am on Wednesday. With 127 new cases, the county has a total of 13,196 cases (12,402 positive cases of CRP and Antigen and 794 positive serology cases). There are 242 new recoveries in the municipality, for a total of 10,783. There were seven additional deaths, leaving a total of 214 deaths. The county’s average 14-day positivity rate is 10.9 percent.

LINN COUNTY

From 10am on Thursday, the COVID-19 panel from Linn County has been presenting 83 new cases since 10 am on Wednesday. Leaving a total of 16,230 cases. There were 76 more recoveries, leaving a total of 13,400 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 241 deaths. Currently, there are 31 patients admitted to the municipality. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 7.9%.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According status panel At 10 am on Thursday, there are 37 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 am on Wednesday. This brings the total to 10,753 reported cases. There were 100 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 9,358 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 47 deaths. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 7.2 percent.

DUBBLE COUNTY

According status panel At 10 am on Thursday, there are 40 new positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 am on Wednesday. This brings the total to 10,367 reported cases. There were 62 additional recoveries reported, resulting in a total of 9,085. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 135 deaths. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 9.5%.
