6 ideas for meetings against stress in Greenville, SC

Sometimes we need some physical means to overcome repressed frustration and stress, right? And maybe doing that with our significant other can be fun.

Numerous studies point to suppressed anger, stress and frustration that lead to physical problems such as depression, gastrointestinal problems, headaches, insomnia and joint pain. For me, exercise is a great help to deal with stress, but I also like to use more pleasant physical activities to help relieve this type of stress. I did everything on this list, except the last one!

I would suggest that these would be incredible nighttime activities too, as you can bond with your significant other while breaking a car or punching a bag. If you want more normal night activities, we have a big list of these here!

As the COVID-19 policies change quickly, we have created a link to all the locations listed so that you can easily check your individual rules and regulations online.

Mad Smash

You can literally break a car or hit glass, plates or anything that can be destroyed with a club or golf club. It’s very, very good to do that. Mad Smash it is by appointment only.

Ax throwing

Picking up an ax and shooting a target is fantastic relief from stress. The Blue Ox Hatchet House and Handmade ax throwing are two local places to do such a thing.

Kickboxing

While kickboxing is an incredible workout, it is also a great way to release frustration. Crazy about work? Punch that bag. Stressed with your kids and school? Kick the bag. Just angry in general? I left. This. Out. For kickboxing here in Greenville, try 9 round.

Spinning

Spinning is basically cycling, except on a stationary bike that you can adjust at different levels to make your ride more difficult or easier. These bikes are not from the 80s – they are elegant and durable and provide an excellent sweat session. Bring your partner water, a towel and start spinning. You will feel amazing afterwards (if you can get up). CycleBar® offers spinning classes here in the city.

Jump

Although you are not necessarily hitting things or trying to seriously tire your body, you will definitely have the opportunity to feel like a carefree child on a trampoline park. It’s a fun date, jumping, somersaulting or swinging on a trapeze bar, if you’re really adventurous. Here is a list of local trampoline parks.

Sky Diving

This is the only thing on this list that I did not do personally. And I will not. But it was suggested by one of our writers who did this and I imagine it is because when you are about to jump off a perfectly good plane of your own accord, you are literally thinking about nothing else and just letting the adrenaline take over. Good luck.
