Clemson’s second bar closes after the employee tests positive for coronavirus

Loose Change, a bar and restaurant on College Avenue in downtown Clemson, closed on Monday after learning that an employee tested positive for coronavirus, said owner Chris Fuller.

It is the second Clemson bar in a few days to close due to a positive employee test. Sunday night, Tiger Town Tavern announced it was closing until further notice, after an employee tested positive for the virus.

Fuller told The Greenville News that the entire team was being tested and that the bar would follow CDC’s reopening guidelines after everyone received the test results.

The news came on the same day that Pickens County saw the most new cases in one day, with 23 positive tests, according to DHEC data.

Fuller said the restaurant did not need to close, but decided to do so voluntarily.
