Alabama reported one of its biggest increases in COVID cases in a single day this morning.
The 10 am numbers on December 30 from the Alabama Department of Public Health show that the state has had 356,820 cases of coronavirus since March, adding up to 5,016 since yesterday. ADPH did not report any accumulation of past test results, but the number of daily cases was below average in the days after Christmas, only to increase today.
The state added 37 deaths, bringing the total to 4,774.
A record number of people – 2,804 – were hospitalized with COVID. The state has updated recoveries to 202,137.
