Welcome to the 364th edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here are the big headlines from last week:
- Parler is making a kind of comeback. The CEO posted a message this week. Apparently, the site will return in the near future. Tim Cook also said the app could return to the Apple App Store if the service improves its moderation techniques. Click on the link to read everything.
- WhatsApp’s privacy policy is still causing many problems. The chat app delayed the move because everyone hated it. People moving to other services basically crashed Signal’s servers. It is so bad that the Indian government even asked WhatsApp to review its changes. We will keep you updated, but the WhatsApp thing is a big fiasco now.
- CBS All Access is changing its name. After the change, it will be Paramount Plus. The service is also being launched in the Nordic countries and Latin America at the same time. Everything should happen between February 24th and mid-March, with more worldwide launches taking place this year.
- There are a few things going on about the possible changes from Android 12 to apps. The first is a new application hibernation feature. The feature basically clears the cache after putting an application into hibernation to save space. We don’t know much yet, but more details should come when the beta 12 of Android 12 is released. In addition, Google may be reworking its split-screen mode, allowing users to bundle applications and launch them simultaneously. Samsung phones and some other OEMs already have this feature, but it will be good to see in Android stock.
- The founder of Pebble launched a new app this week. Beeper is a multifunctional messaging app with support for several popular services. It has support for Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook Messenger and some others. It also has support for iMessage, although that part is a bit dubious when it comes to finer details. Click on the link to learn more and you can also sign up for the beta.
Raising Archangel
Price: Free to play
Raising Archangel is an idle game mixed with an RPG. It is quite normal in terms of mechanics. You create characters, they do things in the background and you get resources to use in future updates. The game includes a lot of equipment and other things to help with the process, along with a PvP mode. It is a bit heavy on ads as it is the main way to earn the game’s secondary currency. He definitely has some problems, but he’s a fun time killer.
CoreSpecs
Price: Free
CoreSpecs is a nice little tool. The app allows you to view the sensor data information for all sensors on your phone. It supports well over a dozen sensors, including the usual things like an accelerometer and a gyroscope. It also includes support for heart rate sensors, pedometers, humidity, light and other things. Your device needs to have sensors in order for the app to show data, but on the other hand it worked very well in our tests. There is not a very large use case for this type of application, but there is one if you want.

Dream score: soccer champion
Price: Free with in-app purchases
Dream Score: Soccer Champion is a football simulator and team management. Players build their teams, help them win and update their teams throughout the game. There is also a PvE and PvP mode if you want to test your skills against other players. It features a deep update path, the ability to define your strategies and some other things as well. It takes a while to see all the features, but it definitely competes well with other football simulators on Google Play.
To color
Price: Free / $ 5.99 per month / $ 29.99 per year
Colorize is a photography application. It turns black and white photos into color photos. Users can scan their photos in the app and it uses an algorithm to add color. You can also use images from your gallery if you want. This is basically everything the app does. It also worked very well in our tests. There is an optional subscription. It allows an unlimited number of photo conversions, unlimited number of photo saves, etc. It is not necessary for short projects, but you may want to invest for a month and cancel later if you plan to use it a lot.

Princess Connect! Re: diving
Price: Free to play
Princess Connect! Re: Dive is a new gacha RPG. Well, it’s kind of new. The game was released in Japan in 2018 and only recently released to the global audience. There is also an anime and some other media. The game is like most gachas. There is a great focus on the story and also on calling characters to play. You can update the characters, go through the story and do other things as well. Players seem to like the game’s generosity towards their players and the cute art of the game. It must end up very popular.
