49ers sign WR Mohamed Sanu with a one-year contract

By his agent Mike McCartney, the San Francisco 49ers signed a one-year contract with wide receiver Mohamed Sanu. Sanu lasted three games on the 49ers’ list last season before being released. He had a nine-meter reception.

If you remember, Deebo Samuel was not very happy at the time of Sanu’s release. Although he may not have the impact on the pitch, Sanu’s presence should be felt during yet another virtual off-season, while he helps young players learn and prepare. In that sense, the team needed a veteran to show young people the way.

As it stands, 49ers need depth in the wide receiver, specifically in the slot. This should not prevent the team from adding a pass-catcher to the draft. It will also not have much effect on the salary cap.

Let’s hope Sanu brings out the best in Deebo and Brandon Aiyuk, along with the other young outsiders on the team.
