The 49ers ruled out cornerback Richard Sherman in Saturday’s game against the Cardinals. This means that Sherman may have played his last game with the team.
Sherman is scheduled for a free agency in March and recently said he is unlikely to return to 49ers.
Sherman lost nine games this season due to a calf injury before returning to the roster to play the last four games.
The 49ers also ruled out quarterback Nick Mullens (right elbow), running back Raheem Mostert (ankle), receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and free safety Jimmie Ward (concussion) from playing against the Cardinals.
The defensive side Dion Jordan (knee) is in doubt.
Pivot Hroniss Grasu (knee), defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee), safety Tarvarius Moore (knee) and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring) are questionable.
CJ Beathard will make his first debut since week 8 of the 2018 season, replacing Mullens. Mullens replaced Jimmy Garoppolo.
Mullens is expected to have the tight end George Kittle back on the team. Kittle hasn’t played since breaking a foot bone on November 1.
