4-year-old child finds dinosaur footprint walking with father

A 220 million-year-old dinosaur footprint was found by a 4-year-old child on a beach in Wales.

Lily Wilder found the footprint well preserved earlier this month in Bendricks Bay, and scientists say it could help them understand how the dinosaurs walked. The National Museum of Wales curator of paleontology, Cindy Howells, told the BBC that the print, which measures almost ten centimeters in length, is “the best specimen ever found on this beach”.

Wilder found the impression while walking on the beach with his father, Richard Wilder, according to the report.

“Lily saw when they were walking and said, ‘Daddy, look,'” said his mother, Sally Wilder. “When Richard came home and showed me the photograph, I thought it looked incredible.”

Scientists said they could not say what type of dinosaur left the footprint that was preserved in the mud.
