JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Four teenagers were arrested last month and accused of breaking into a gun store in St. Nicholas to steal guns, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday.
JSO said the four teenagers – 16, 15, 13 and 13 – used a crowbar to break into the store and took eight guns, six pistols and two rifles.
After they left the store, the teenagers had to return because one of them left a bag and two cell phones, said JSO. When they returned, they were greeted by the store owner who saw them and called the police after the teenagers ran out.
The police finally chased one of the teenagers immediately and later arrested the other three.
Investigators managed to recover three pistols and a rifle, but the other weapons are still missing.
JSO said it was the first criminal prison for all teenagers.
The JSO said that it will be up to the prosecutor to decide the charges that the teenagers will face.
In addition, JSO said the two 13-year-old suspects are also accused of a robbery a few days earlier, where they allegedly took the keys to an elderly woman’s car. She was not harmed.

Thursday’s announcement comes a day after the JSO announced the arrest of four teenagers in an unrelated case on triple murder charges.
The Jacksonville MADDADS organization says it takes everyone’s effort to keep young people straight. Mike Bruno, director of investigations at JSO, said the police cannot be the only means of intervention.
“They need to learn values, morals and empathy for their peers,” said Bruno.
AJ Jordan, vice president of MAD DADS, agrees with Bruno’s statement, but points out that services for at-risk youth require more money.
“Many of these groups, like MAD DADS and Families of Slain Children, have programs, but we don’t have the funding. We need funding so that we can get these 13, 10, 16 year olds into good programs, like MAD DADS, Families of Slain Children and others. “
