4 teams that can hire Ben Roethlisberger if Steelers is forced to eliminate him

Ben Roethlisberger’s days with the Steelers may be coming to an end. Here are four teams that could sign the future Hall of Famer if Pittsburgh is forced to let it go.

After the 2020 season, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was believed to return to Pittsburgh for a final season. Even with the offensive crisis in the last six games of the year, in which Ben’s team scored less than 20 points per dispute, most believed that the Steelers would do everything in their power to bring him back.

Roethlisberger was vocal this offseason he wants to play, and stated that he would be willing to do whatever was necessary to make that happen – even a cut in pay. The Steelers, however, will call their bluff, as Kevin Colbert’s recent statements have made that Ben is far from a block to be his quarterback in 2020.

If Pittsburgh fails to come to terms with the future Hall of Fame quarterback, they may be forced to dismiss him. This would give you the opportunity to get one last chance on a new team. Although there are not many applicants for a declining 39-year-old quarterback, these four organizations can look to you as a bridge quarterback:

Chicago Bears

Despite the quarterback game that was arguably the worst in the league last year, Bears ended with an 8-8 record this season. With a very good defense and most of the squad in place, all Chicago lacks is a quarterback who can take care of the ball and give them a chance in the playoffs.

The Bears have a better offensive line and quick attack at this point than the Steelers, while Mitch Trubisky is an unrestricted free agent. Quarterback Nick Foles is still under contract for two more seasons, but his capitalization is very manageable, and Chicago will likely explore ways to improve his position. Bringing Ben into a one-year contract could allow them to be competitive in 2021.
