“There is a high possibility that he will issue charges of combining results from ongoing investigations.”
Several professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players have been punished for violating the Esports Integrity Commission – ESIC – anti-corruption rules.
“ESIC issues sanctions against 35 players for betting-related offenses and extends bans to 2 players previously sanctioned in October 2020,” reported ESIC. “ESIC will continue to investigate other violations in Australia, NA and Europe in cooperation with law enforcement authorities.”
“The sanctions issued at today’s launch are not for manipulating results,” adds the organization. “However, ESIC believes that there is a high possibility of issuing accusations of manipulation of results resulting from ongoing investigations, potentially including against players sanctioned today.”
Violating ESIC’s anti-corruption rules means that players can bet “on matches at ESIC member events”, bet “on an individual’s own matches at ESIC member events” or “against an individual’s own team at events at ESIC members” ESIC members “.

The sanctions include extending the exclusions of two players who had already been banned after a similar investigation concluded last October; Akram ‘ADK’ Smida, ex-Rooster, saw his one-year ban doubled to two, while Darly ‘Mayker’ May, ex-Ground Zero, saw his one-year expulsion triple to three (thanks, PCGN).
Matthew ‘Jam’ Castro, Alvin ‘Gravinz’ Changgra and Wilson ‘willyKS’ Sugianto were all subject to the maximum five-year ban for the most egregious rule violations.
ESIC adds that it “referred the matter in its entirety to law enforcement for investigation” and adds that a number of “associated non-players” were also caught “in adverse betting behavior” and were also referred for further investigation.
