For the past year, researchers have been busy trying to determine all the who, what, when and why of post-COVID syndrome, which can often be debilitating. Now, a new study published Friday in the newspaper Open JAMA network, found that a surprising number of people are not fully recovering – 30% to be exact – still showing symptoms up to nine months after infection. Most of them, 84.7 percent, have never been hospitalized, suffering from mild forms of the disease. 1. They feel profound fatigue

Shortness of breath is one of the main symptoms of COVID-19 and, for many, it doesn’t stop. 13 percent reported having difficulty breathing – even while trying to perform normal activity, such as daily tasks. This number jumped to more than 80 percent for those hospitalized with the virus.

5. They have muscle pain

Muscle pain was identified by 13% of respondents.

6. They have brain fog

Brain fog was reported by just over 2.3% of patients with COVID. According to many long-haul trucks, this neurological symptom is one of the most debilitating and leaves them unable to perform daily tasks.

8. What to do if you think it’s a long truck

If you are still experiencing any of these symptoms weeks after the initial diagnosis of COVID-19, you should call your doctor to discuss treatment. In addition, there are other resources – including post-COVID clinics and support groups like Survivor Corps on Facebook – that can be helpful in terms of treatment.
