Three Florida women were arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for an attack in which a Popeyes employee was hit several times through the drive-through window. All three suspects – Brianna Toombs, 19; Chloe Arieigha Hernandez, 21; and Joanna Ceidi, 19 – are from West Palm Beach.

The alleged attack took place on Tuesday around 1 pm in the neighboring town of Lantana. The trio was charged with gun theft and assault or battery theft, according to Local 10 News.

A fourth suspect, also a woman, has not yet been arrested.

MPs say the group, driving a Nissan Sentra, had a verbal discussion with the Popeyes cashier. Another person in the drive-thru queue captured cell phone images of the chaos (note the slow back-up):

The driver, Demarco Quant, told the South Florida Sun Sentinel one of the suspects spread an “unknown aerosol” out the window. “I couldn’t get into the restaurant because everyone was almost coughing,” he said, adding that the incident “was a moment that totally shocked me.”

It is not clear at this point what the discussion really was about.

Two women in the group were said to have spit at the cashier. Police also said that two of the women got out of the car to attack two other employees within the Popeyes. One of the women is accused of going to the drive-through window to take money from the cash register.
