News of the shooting was received around midnight on Saturday and the police learned that a party had taken place at the site prior to the shooting, according to Lt. Irving, Wilmington Police Department guard commander.
Responding officers found seven victims at the scene, three of whom were dead, police said. Investigators are still working on the crime scene near 7th Street and Kidder Street and are trying to identify the suspects.
There is no one in custody and no reason at this time, said Irving, adding that the general public is not in danger.
The conditions of the injured victims are unknown at this time. The names of the dead will be released as soon as their families and close relatives are notified, police said.
