3 new deaths from the El Paso virus, while the number of pandemic fatalities reaches 1,582

EL PASO, Texas – Health officials reported three more deaths from coronavirus on Sunday morning, bringing the death toll from the El Paso County pandemic to 1,582.

The latest victims were two men in their 60s and a woman in their 80s.

This death count will continue to rise, as more than 500 likely virus deaths are currently listed as under investigation. As soon as officials confirm the cause of death as Covid-19, these individuals will be officially included in the count.

In the meantime, there were also another 365 infections reported on Sunday, with a total of 35,467 active cases.

In hospitals in El Paso, authorities said 447 patients at Covid-19 were being seen on Sunday morning. Of these, 152 were listed in intensive care, while 100 remained on ventilators.

El Paso’s cumulative virus case count is 106,667, with health leaders estimating 69,048 recoveries. However, doctors warn that some recovered people may still have ongoing health problems as a result of being infected.
