3 million NYs fully vaccinated as Covid-19 cases, deaths remain stable

Syracuse, NY – Nearly 3.2 million people in New York are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 – including 120,000 who were vaccinated in the past 24 hours, according to data released by Governor Andrew Cuomo today.

This means that almost 16% of the state’s 19.5 million residents are vaccinated. In Onondaga County, more than 100,000 people completed their vaccination series, according to the state.

Overall, 5.7 million people received a dose of the vaccine, according to state data.

This occurs as the number of newly confirmed cases, hospitalizations and deaths remains constantly high.

In New York, another 8,201 people tested positive for coronavirus the day before. That is out of almost 260,000 test results, or a positive rate of 3.15%.

Hospitalizations dropped slightly to 4,578, with 896 patients in intensive care.

The state recorded an additional 76 deaths on the last day. Since the start of the pandemic, 40,266 people have died in New York, according to state data.

Vaccine nominations are currently available in Onondaga County at OnCenter or at state facilities, such as the New York State Fair. These appointments are for anyone currently qualified.
