The 49ers’ injury prospects for Saturday’s clash with the Arizona Cardinals remain relatively bleak. While Dion Jordan and Tarvarius Moore returned to training on Wednesday, a trio of defensive starters remained on the sidelines.
Richard Sherman is still dealing with a calf problem. Jimmie Ward is in concussion protocol and Javon Kinlaw has a knee injury.
With the week short due to the start of the game on Saturday, San Francisco has one day less to make players healthy enough to play. A little bit of optimism can be found in the fact that on a typical week, Wednesday is the first day of training and players who were injured on Sunday may not have participated in any way.
However, non-participation in the first two days of training is not a big sign of availability for Saturday. Thursday’s training and the subsequent injury report will give us a better indication of what the team’s health will be like against the Cardinals.
Here is Wednesday’s total participation report for the practice:
Did not participate
DT Javon Kinlaw (knee)
RB Raheem Mostert (ankle)
QB Nick Mullens (right elbow)
