3 dead, 4 wounded in night shootings in Wilmington, North Carolina

The shooting happened at a house party, police said.

At least three people died and four were injured after an overnight shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The condition of the wounded was not immediately available, Lt. Leslie Irving, commander of the Wilmington Police Department’s guard, told ABC News.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, police officers were dispatched to Block 700 on Kidder Street after reports of gunfire. As soon as they arrived, the police said they had discovered a gunfire inside the house during a party.

The police did not release the names of the victims because the authorities said they were still working to notify their family members.

Irving said the scene remains an active investigation and that the police will release more information on Saturday morning.

“Our hearts are with everyone affected by this senseless violence, and we ask that anyone with information about this incident come forward so that we can find justice,” Wilmington police said in a statement on Saturday morning.
