VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Three people, including a brother and sister, were killed and two others were injured Tuesday night in an accident on the wrong hand involving an alleged armed car thief on Interstate 95 in Volusia County, according to authorities .
The fatal fatal accident occurred around 7 pm on I-95 on Beville Road, near Daytona Beach.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the accident involved a wanted man in an Orange County armed car theft. The man, whose name and age were not released, died in a frontal accident with an SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The SUV driver, a 21-year-old man from Wisconsin, and his 18-year-old sister, a front-seat passenger, also died in the accident, the FHP said. A 17-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, who were also in the SUV, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospitals, according to an FHP report. All four were wearing seat belts, said the FHP.
Investigators from the Volusia County sheriff said before the accident, the alleged car thief turned away from Flagler County police, turned off the lights and entered Volusia County.
Authorities said that as soon as the man entered Volusia County, deputies from the county sheriff’s office chased him. The Sheriff’s Office said the man made a U-turn on Interstate 95 and the police ended the chase and tried to stop the oncoming traffic from the south.
Police said the man drove north on the southern lanes and hit the SUV near exit 260A.
Both drivers and the 18-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
One of the surviving victims was flown to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for children and the other was flown to Halifax Health.
Details of the armed robbery, even when it occurred, were not released.
