Twenty-three people died in Norway, days after being vaccinated with the first dose of Pfizer Covid-19. 13 of them were nursing home patients and died of side effects from the vaccine.
Weak and delicate patients are prone to common reactions such as fever and nausea, according to a chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency. The 13 patients in the nursing home were at least 80 years old and this raises a question about who should receive the vaccine.
Pfizer and Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccines appear to have little risk, but fragile patients are an exception to this. A total of 29 people had side effects due to the vaccine and 13 of them died. In addition to the 13 patients, nine others had serious side effects, such as a strong fever and allergic reactions, while seven others had less serious side effects.
In Norway, at least 30,000 people have received their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna since last month.
