213,000 Wisconsin residents complete the COVID-19 vaccine series as positive percentage of new tests continues to decline

MADISON, Wisconsin – More than 200,000 people in Wisconsin received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday afternoon, according to the state’s Department of Health Services.

A total of 901,333 doses have been administered since December, including 33,697 the day before. Health officials said 213,571 people had completed the vaccine series.

The positive percentage of new COVID-19 tests continued to decline, with the positive percentage of Friday’s seven days falling to 3.4%.

Positive percentage per test panel 4Wisconsin reported 938 new cases of the virus on Friday, which is above the seven-day moving average of 832. The state is at a historic total of 554,048 confirmed cases and 12,111, or 2.2% of cases are active.

There were 11 more confirmed deaths, bringing the death toll across the state to 6,151. DHS officials said 55 more were hospitalized the day before. Of the 10,850 hospital beds in the state, 20% are available for new patients.
