2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV debuts in new commercial

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV debuted on Saturday during the NCAA Final Four game in a commercial featuring basketball legend LeBron James. The next model in this revived brand’s all-electric portfolio, the new utility vehicle is dressed in a boxy style that is almost identical to the Hummer Pickup that first one broke out last year.

Just like that truck, the Hummer EV SUV should offer some off-road track control capabilities. For starters, it features something called CrabWalk, which allows the front and rear wheels to rotate in the same direction at low speeds for greater maneuverability. This utility vehicle also features Extraction Mode, which must lift the suspension several inches to provide greater ground clearance.

With a significantly shorter wheelbase than the Hummer EV Pickup, this SUV should offer even better off-road performance thanks to its smaller size and improved starting and trailing angles. This sophisticated feature will be standard on models 2X, 3X and Edition 1.

Embellishing its already butch style is a spare tire mounted on the outside. A standard infinite roof with removable Sky panels should allow plenty of light to enter the square interior of the vehicle, which offers a capacity for five people.

Despite its robust appearance, the new Hummer EV SUV is purely electric, motivated by Utlium Drive System. Underneath this imposing body is a battery of 20 modules that promises an estimated range of at least 300 miles when the vehicle is not equipped with the available Extreme Off-Road Pack. With a handful of electric motors, the Hummer reaches an output of 830 horsepower.
