Kia launched the first teasers of the 2022 EV6, which will be its first electric vehicle based on the new E-GMP platform.
Previously known as the CV, the EV6 will be launched in the first quarter and will present a bold design philosophy that “incorporates Kia’s shift in focus towards electrification”.
Speaking of which, the EV6 will be a stylish electric vehicle that features a rakish windshield that flows on a sloping roof. We can also see an aerodynamic body, door handles embedded in the doors and an angled rear window.

Other notable highlights include slim LED headlights and muscular rear hips. The model also has an exclusive rear with sequential turn signals and distinct brake lights.
Kia is keeping a low profile about specifications, but they should echo the Hyundai Ioniq 5. As a result, we can expect 58 and 72.6 kWh batteries, as well as rear and all-wheel drive configurations. The latter uses two electric motors that produce a combined power of 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque.
The four-wheel drive variant can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 5.2 seconds, while the front-wheel drive model with the larger battery pack has a range of approximately 480 km (298 miles) ) in the Harmonized Light Vehicle Testing Procedure worldwide.
Full details will be released soon, but Kia has confirmed that its dedicated electric vehicles will have a nomenclature strategy that “brings simplicity and consistency” to global markets. As you probably have guessed by now, the names will start with a prefix “EV” and will be followed by a number that corresponds to the position of the vehicle in the program.
