After seeing the draft results for the NBA All-Star 2021 game earlier this week, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left a simple message: “It’s over, guys. Me, LeBron, Luka, Jokic and Steph. Dude. , this is a good start five. ”

His words were prophetic, as Team LeBron won a 170-150 victory over Team Durant on Sunday night, in a game that had little drama. There were some memorable moments, however, including some from Greek Freak himself, who finished with 35 points and seven rebounds in a perfect 16 of 16 pitches and was named the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP.

Giannis’ shooting performance was an All-Star record for the most attempts without fail. In fact, he doubled the previous mark set by Hal Greer, who hit 8 of 8 on the field in 1968. Giannis also increased his average score on the All-Star for 28.8 points per game, which is another record.

“It’s fun,” said Giannis after the game. “It’s fun. I was happy, my teammates had fun. Just being around great players is easy to play.”

One of the most obvious demonstrations of this fun and friendship came at the end of the second half, when Giannis drained a step back 3 and celebrated jumping for joy with Nikola Jokic as they ran back to the court.

The two even had fun on the bench, showing off their smooth dance moves.

Another great moment came in the third quarter, when Giannis already controlled the ball on the side. He did some dribbling and threw a 3 while the broadcast team shouted “NO!” That quickly changed to “YES!” when the ball hit the table and nestled in the net.

“Usually [the bank] it’s closed, but for me it was open, “joked Giannis.” The schedule has been extended. I called ahead of time so that it was open. “
