Well, a new year means a new inspiration Lexus LC 500 series limited edition and one more time, it is a stunning. The new Inspiration series was announced by Lexus on Tuesday and is again limited to just 100 units.
What, in addition to the serialized emblem, makes the 2021 Inspiration Series LC 500 special this time around? Well, Lexus decided to take a small performance leap in the form of a limited slip differential and a “rear performance rod with shock absorber” designed by Yamaha that promises greater suspension rigidity. Both are optional on standard LC 500 models.
There is also a new spoiler on the back, which had its design inspired by the Red Bull Air Race Yoshihide Muroya racing plane. It’s a much more subtle design than you might think, too, and it does a good job animating the LC’s rear a little. Lexus also claims it is functional, providing a measure of downforce in speed.
When you hear “inspired by air races”, you probably imagine something less subtle than this kite.
Lexus
The car has an exclusive finish in a beautiful tone called Obsidian and combined with a black and brown interior. There are 21-inch wheels and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic roof. The rest is quite normal 2021 LC 500 stuff, including its lovely 471 horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Inspiration Series LC 500 is said to be released “later this winter” and, although we don’t have an official price for it, we expect it to be somewhere north of $ 100,000.
