The Grand Cherokee L comes in four versions with two different engines and the option of rear-wheel drive or three four-wheel drive systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II). There are finishes Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit. The engine choices are what we would expect from Stellantis. You can choose the Pentastar V6 3.6 liter with 290 horsepower or the Hemi V8 5.7 liter 357-HP. Four-wheel drive is a $ 2,000 option for each finish.

The Laredo base starts at the aforementioned $ 36,995. Inside, there’s a huge standard touchscreen. At 10.2 inches, it is equipped with the latest generation of the excellent UConnect 5. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard. If you have a family with multiple devices, they should have no problem charging them inside. There are a total of 12 USB ports in several internal locations.

There is also the standard set of driver safety systems, such as lane departure warning, rear crossing detection and front collision warning. Heated rear-view mirrors, 18-inch wheels, fabric seats and automatic temperature control complete some of the standard features. It comes well equipped.

The next is the limited trim. Starting at $ 43,995, it relies on Laredo as it comes with more luxurious features. This is also the finish in which, if equipped with four-wheel drive, the Jeep Selec Terrain management system comes from the factory. Inside, there are standard Capri leather seats with power and heating for the first two rows, a premium six-speaker sound system and ambient interior lighting.

Grand Cherokee L Overland

The Overland finish is next on the lineup. Starting at $ 52,995, this is the finish in which the Hemi V8 is available. Remember that you can only get the Hemi with all-wheel drive. Yes, it means that you will have to spend a lot of money to get the power of the V8. The V8 costs $ 3,295 more than the Overland 4X4 with the V6. This means that a Grand Cherokee L Overland V6 4X4 starts at $ 54,995. Therefore, a basic Overland 4X4 V8 costs almost $ 60,000 to $ 58,290. It comes luxuriously cut, however. There are chrome exterior details on things like tow hooks and mirrors. You can get a contrasting roof in glossy black paint, 20-inch wheels and door handles that allow for a brighter approach. Inside, there are heated and cooled Nappa leather seats, a nine-speaker Alpine sound system, panoramic roof and foldable third row as standard features.

Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve

The latter is the top of the Summit line. Starting at $ 56,995, it’s practically the Grand Cherokee L. You can make it even more luxurious with a premium package called Summit Reserve, starting at around $ 62,000. There are padded Nappa leather seats inside for all three rows. This is interesting, as most car manufacturers that offer leather in three-row vehicles generally do not cover the third row in leather. There is an oak-finished steering wheel, 16-position adjustable driver’s seat, five-way massage function for the front seats and four-zone temperature control.

Whichever Grand Cherokee L model you choose, it will be a well-equipped and spacious addition to the three-tier SUV / crossover segment. It would be nice if you could get the Hemi V8 in the lower versions for buyers who want more towing power at a low cost. The Grand Cherokee L hits dealerships this spring.
