2 women arrested after hosting an impromptu party for 200 people in New Jersey

Two women were arrested for hosting more than 200 people in an illegal “makeshift bar” in New Jersey over the weekend, Newark officials said.

The state’s public security department said police officers responded to calls at Libella Court, 6, in Newark, at about 12 noon on Sunday. Hundreds of customers were seen drinking, eating and gambling illegally at the warehouse party, according to police.

Anthony Ambrose, Newark’s Director of Public Security, said Denisse Tinizaray, 26, and Katherine Tinizaray, 28, both from Newark, were arrested after the two failed to provide a liquor license.

Both women were accused of maintaining an illegal alcohol establishment and illegal possession and sale of alcohol.

It is not clear whether the Tinizaray have lawyers.

Three other people were arrested on Saturday for allegedly selling alcohol without permission inside a hookah lounge that hosted more than 50 people in Paterson, 20 minutes north of Newark, NBC New York reported.
