2 questioned in connection with a fatal shot at a man at the Harrison Township condominium complex

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person died in a home invasion in Harrison Township that happened on Monday afternoon, according to the police.

Police officers were called to the Harrison Woods Lane condominium complex at around 12:36 pm on Monday to investigate an active home invasion.

As police responded to the scene, more calls were made from area residents who reported hearing gunshots.

“This community is very peaceful. We’ve never had any problems here, ”said a neighbor who declined to be identified.

Police officers found the body of a 26-year-old Redford man when they entered the house. Police say he was shot in the head. Delegates from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office were still on the scene investigating the fatal shooting late into the night.

Police say the Redford man was shot by one of the house’s occupants while trying to enter.

Two people, including a 27-year-old woman from Harrison Township and a 27-year-old Inkster man, were taken for questioning.

The police say these two people have some kind of connection to the man who broke into the house. Even so, details about the connection are still uncertain.

The man and woman were released from custody by the Macomb County Attorney’s Office while the case continues to be reviewed.
