2 men in their 40s out of 4 new COVID-19 related deaths in North Dakota

The deceased – two men and two women – were from Burleigh, Grand Forks and Williams counties. The two men were in their 40s, while the women were in their 80s and 90s.

Only 19 residents in their 40s died of COVID-19 in the state. In North Dakota, 1.4% of people infected with the virus died.

The state added 133 new cases of the virus on Saturday. Cass de Fargo County led the state with 27 new cases, while Burleigh County Bismarck added 13 cases. Rolette County and Williams de Williston County reported 11 new cases each.

Grand Forks County totaled eight new cases. Morton, Ramsey and Ward counties each added seven new cases.

Barnes, Benson, Bottineau, Bowman, Dickey, Emmons, Hettinger, Logan, McIntosh, McKenzie, McLean, Mercer, Mountrail, Oliver, Richland, Stark, Steele, Stutsman, Towner, Traill, Walsh and Wells counties, each reported six or less new counties Cases of covid19.

The new cases emerged from 3,219 exams, marking a daily positivity rate of 4.5%.

The department reported 73 new recoveries. About 96% of those infected with COVID-19 recovered in the state.

Active cases across the state increased slightly from Thursday, December 24. Active cases totaled 2,329 on Saturday, eight more than on Thursday.

Cass County’s 530 active cases led the state on Saturday, down 16% from last Saturday.

Active cases have dropped 27% in Burleigh County in the past seven days. The county totaled 283 active cases on Saturday.

Ward County posted 153 active cases on Saturday; Jamestown’s Stutsman County recorded 138 active cases.

Grand Forks County registered 132 active cases on Saturday, while Williams County and Morton County reported 121 and 112 active cases, respectively.

Across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 18,391,571 cases of COVID-19 and 325,096 deaths attributed to the virus on Thursday afternoon.
