“Two people were suspended. One was the selfie officer and the other was an officer who put on a MAGA hat and started to mentor some people,” said Ryan, an Ohio Democrat who is chairman of the House subcommittee responsible for the investigation response to insurrection. “It was the interim chief who determined that he would qualify for immediate suspension.”
Ryan had less details about the arrested individual and was not sure if he was a police officer or a member of the National Guard. He told reporters he would have more details later.
He added that there are about 10 to 15 Capitol police officers under investigation for his behavior during the riot, but gave no further details.
