1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody is bad for the bone

An impressive Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody 1989 is being auctioned off next month and could be the perfect vehicle for Mercedes aficionados.

The rare 560 SEC AMG 6.0 is a Japanese market model and as part of its transformation into an AMG model, the standard 5.5-liter V11 M117 engine has been reduced to 6.0 liters, while a set of new camshafts also were assembled. In addition, the engine now balances 16 valves, three parts, sand cast cylinder heads, a modified throttle body, orifice intake manifold and a new exhaust, resulting in 385 satisfactory horses under that long hood.

RM Sotheby’s list reveals that the car also features AMG four-piston front brake calipers, as well as Bilstein shock absorbers on all four corners.

Several other modifications make this wild AMG creation even more desirable. For example, the 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody has handmade fenders and a ground effects package that includes extended skirts and bumpers. The car also maintains its original 17-inch wheels, which are now lined with Bridgestone Potenza tires.

As for the cabin, it includes a Momo M38 steering wheel with a white AMG instrument panel. There are also padded buffalo leather door inserts and black carpet.

The car is going on sale for 90,400 km (~ 56,200 miles) on the watch and includes a Japanese service manual, jack, spare tire and an AMG document bag.
