18-year-old woman accused of September murder at Jacksonville Beach home

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Florida. – An 18-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man during a robbery at an armed house in Jacksonville Beach in September.

Ezekiel Archuleta of Jacksonville died after being shot on September 21 at his home on Penman Road North on 12th Avenue. Police officers sent for an ongoing assault found the victim in the front gardens with gunshot wounds. He died in a hospital.

After the shooting, police charged the 22-year-old resident of the house, Roman Steward Jr., with armed marijuana possession. He was not accused of shooting.

Jacksonville Beach police said Steward told investigators that his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend Samantha Allison Weiner had asked several people to steal him in retaliation for a recent breach. Police said they learned that Weiner provided Archuleta with Steward’s address and specific information to complete the theft, including who lived in the house, suggested entry points and what items should be taken.

After confirming that Archuleta was among the Stewards asked to commit the theft, the police said they obtained an arrest warrant for her accusing her of intentional second-degree murder and a request to commit theft. She was arrested at 1:16 am on Wednesday at her St. Johns County residence.

Archuleta’s aunt told News4Jax in September that she was shocked to learn of his death. She said Archulata’s 14-year-old brother was walking with him when the person inside the house came out and started shooting.

“He was a good boy in his essence, very loved by his family,” the aunt told News4Jax. “While he was a good boy, he had taken a different path and he and his family were working to bring him back the right way. He just got a new job and is one of four brothers. “

The aunt sent a message to the parents of a child who may have problems: “If you feel that your child is suffering or needs help, please, please, don’t give up.”
