15-year-old arrested for BMW bike gang attack in New York

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the violent attack on Tuesday by a BMW driver whose elegant car was vandalized by a bicycle gang in broad daylight in Manhattan, the Post found.

The Queens teenager – who was not identified as a minor – is being accused of being a minor after allegedly attacking victim Max Torgovnick’s luxury car on Fifth Avenue, police sources said on Wednesday.

The sources said about 25 motorcyclists were involved, six of whom damaged Torgovnick’s car. Police have also identified another teenager and are looking for him, the sources added.

Torgovnick told the Post on Wednesday that he and his mother, who is 70, had just handed over a donation to a non-profit organization and were going to her father’s neurology office when they found about 50 teenage bikers on Tuesday afternoon.

The video of the harrowing attack shows motorcyclists surrounding the BMW on Fifth Avenue and 21st Street, some hitting the vehicle with their fists and feet and the other breaking a bicycle at Torgovnick’s front window.

One of the attackers then ran into the car and jumped on the hood, causing the windshield to break and partially collapse, the video shows.

“At that time, I was afraid that they would break the window, get in the car, reach out and pull us out,” recalled Torgovnick.

His mother was frantically calling 911 while shouting, “‘We are going to die, they are going to kill us,'” said Torgovnick.
