12 unforgettable statistics from the historic Packers 2020 season

The Green Bay Packers has just completed one of the most impressive regular seasons in the franchise’s long history.

Matt LaFleur’s team finished 13-3 and secured seed # 1 in the conference, the attack scored 509 points and 66 touchdowns, both the most scoring seconds in the franchise’s history, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers will likely win his third MVP prize.

Here are all the unforgettable statistics from the historic 2020 Packers season:

1 More touchdown passes than punts

More Packers drives ended in Aaron Rodgers’ touchdown passes (48) than JK Scott’s punts (47, including a blocked punt). The Packers became only the fourth team in NFL history to have more touchdown passes than punts in a single season. The 47 punts were the lowest in a single season in the team’s history.

Two more touchdowns from Davante Adams than from Mason Crosby.

More Packer drives ended in touchdowns by Davante Adams (18) than Mason Crosby field goal (16). Surprisingly, Adams scored more total points (108) than Crosby (107), a real rarity for a team with a healthy and capable kicker for 16 games. Adams’ 18 touchdown receptions tied the team’s record and came in third, while Crosby made all 16 field goal attempts.

3 dominance of the red zone

The Packers scored touchdowns on 48 of the 60 trips to the red zone, or what the team calls the “golden zone”. The attack had a touchdown conversion rate of 80 percent within the 20-yard line, five percentage points better than the NFL’s second best team (Tennessee Titans, 75.0 percent). According to the team, the Packers touchdown percentage in the red zone was the highest in the NFL for the past 40 seasons.

4 all touchdowns

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers set new team records with 48 touchdown passes and 51 touchdowns in total. His 48 touchdown passes drew Dan Marino for the fifth time in all time. Rodgers never made more than four touchdown passes in a single game, but he did make four touchdown passes in seven different games, the third largest in NFL history.

5 Consistent excellence

According to the team, Aaron Rodgers has set new NFL records for games with a passer rating of at least 100.0 (14), games with at least three touchdown passes and a passer rating of at least 100.0 ( 12), and games with at least three touchdown passes and zero interceptions (10). The beauty of Rodgers’ season was the consistency of the elite game.

6 30 or more

The Packers scored 30 or more points in 12 different games. Matt LaFleur’s team actually had as many games with 40 or more points (four) as games under 30 (four). Only once did the Packers fall below 20 points.

7 11 different touchdown catchers

Eleven different players received Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes in 2020: Davante Adams (18), Robert Tonyan (11), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (6), Allen Lazard (3), Marcedes Lewis (3), Aaron Jones (2) , Jamaal Williams (1), Equanimeous St. Brown (1), Malik Taylor (1), Jace Sternberger (1) and Dominique Dafney (1).

8 Completion percentage leader

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished as the leader of the NFL in percentage of completion. He completed 70.7 percent of his passes, just ahead of Drew Brees (70.5) and Deshaun Watson (70.2). Rodgers completed only 62.0% of his passes in 2019, and his previous career record was 68.3. He finished 10 games with a completion percentage of 70.0 or better.

9 Tonyan touchdowns

Robert Tonyan managed only 10 passes in total during the 2019 season. He took 11 touchdown passes in 2020, drawing the majority among the NFL tight end and drawing the team’s record.

10 deep threat

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had some premature takedowns, but he also led all qualified NFL players in yards per catch by 20.9. Its 33 receptions won 620 yards. He drew at the NFL high with six receptions of 40 or more yards, and his six touchdowns averaged 43.7 yards per reception.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers now holds the top two passer rankings in a single season in NFL history. He finished at 121.5 in 2020, just one point below his NFL record of 122.5, set in 2011.

A professional player for the first time, cornerback Jaire Alexander allowed only 4.8 yards per attempt to shoot from his cover, according to Pro Football Focus. He gave up just two touchdown passes while breaking 13 other passes and only committed a penalty.
