The Department of Public Health is reporting twelve deaths and 600 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday and Saturday.
There were nine individuals over the age of 70 and three were between 50-69 years of age, ten had underlying medical conditions and four deaths were associated with outbreaks in congregated facilities.
Four of the individuals resided in Santa Bárbara, three in Santa Maria, two in Orcutt, one in Goleta, one in the non-incorporated area of Goleta and one in Lompoc.
197 deaths have already occurred in Santa Barbara County due to COVID-19.
There are currently 2,176 active cases in the county. Of these, 180 are hospitalized, including 57 in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Santa Barbara County and the Southern California metropolitan region have 0% ICU availability.
