BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos County Sanitary District reported 117 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the municipality of Brazos. Currently, there are 873 active cases.
No new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 221 deaths in the municipality of Brazos related to COVID-19.
17,172 patients are classified as recovered, which means they have had no fever for 72 hours, no medication to reduce the fever, and 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms.
70 percent of new confirmed cases are in the 18 to 24 age group.
There have been 3,802 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations in all confirmed and probable cases.
Currently, there are 149 active probable cases and 3,653 probable cases recovered.
The total number of positive cases confirmed in the county since the beginning of the tests is 18,266. 196,706 tests were carried out.
The total occupancy of hospital beds in Brazos County is 94% and the total occupancy of beds in the ICU is 79%.
Currently, there are 24 residents in the municipality of Brazos hospitalized for COVID-19.
Area N of the state trauma service
Most of the Brazos Valley falls under the state N trauma service area (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties). The Trauma Service Area N currently reports 559 hospital beds with 94 available beds. According to the most recent data from the state, the region has 0 ICU beds available and 70 fans available. The latest state update listed 43 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University
The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 30 new cases and 297 active cases in March. 12
Currently, the university has reported 4,890 positive cases since the week of January 9, 2021. 7.2 percent of the tests were positive.
The last update of the panel was provided on March 15, 2021.

Across the state, Texas has an estimated 112,819 active cases and 2,556,626 recoveries. There were 2,718,383 cases reported in total and 24,239,587 tests in total (viral and antibody).
So far, 45,543 Texans have died from COVID-19.
Currently, 5,371,479 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 2,832,158 Texans have been fully vaccinated. Across Texas, 10,879,585 doses were shipped.
254 out of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases, with 364,613 cases reported.
